IMPORTANT! All of our images are Rights Managed, RM. Rights Managed refers to a copyright license which, if purchased by a user, allows the one time use of the photo as specified by the license. If the user wants to use the photo for other uses an additional license needs to be purchased. RM licences can be given on a non-exclusive or exclusive basis .

Rights Managed

The value of a license is determined by the use of the image, which is generally broken down along these lines;

• Usage: (e.g. Advertising , Corporate or Editorial?)
• Specific Use: (e.g. Billboard, Annual Report, Newspaper article?)
• Duration: (e.g. 1 month, 2 months, 1 Year, 2 Years, etc?)
• Print Run: (Number if image to be printed, i.e. 1,000, 10,000?)
• Territory: (Canada, USA, Europe, other?)
• Size: (1/4 page, 1/2 page, full page, or double page spread?)
• Industry: (Industry type - e.g. Consumer Electronics, Financial Services, etc?)
• Exclusivity: (Exclusive or Non Exclusive?)

License

A license is an agreement to purchase rights to use a photo for specific (commercial) purposes. Brian Carey Photography is the 'Licensor' and the party purchasing the rights is the 'Licensee'. To obtain a stock photo from our archive a photo licence must first be prepared and purchased. Our photos are generally licensed for advertising and marketing purposes, but may also be licensed for personal use in certain cases. FAQs

What file format and resolution are your licensed photos distributed in? We license 300 ppi photos (uncompressed tiff) for print use and 72 ppi photos for web and broadcast use. All photos are distributed in 8bit RGB color mode and have an embedded Adobe RGB 1998 color profile. All licensed photos are also captioned with the photo's photo ID#, title, description, copyright info, our contact info and the license details. This info is also embedded in the file. Please note: all licensed photos are cropped according to the usage before they are distributed to customers.

How will I receive the high-resolution photo once I have purchased a license?

When a customer purchases a photo license a account is created on our server. Once payment has cleared an email containing the photo download instructions and password is automatically sent to your email address.
